Afternoon

Level Alef provides the foundation of the Hebrew language: The Hebrew Alphabet, words and sentence structure, and the unique verb system in the present and past tenses, along with the grammar of the Hebrew language. The students will also learn a wide array of Hebrew vocabulary.
The students will gain the foundation of the Hebrew language by reading dialogs and texts, composing essays, and conversing among themselves and with the teachers. By the end of the semester, the students will understand, write, read and speak basic Hebrew. The book required for this level is Hebrew from Scratch part 1. According to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) the students will reach proficiency Level A1.2.
